To make YouTube videos with AI today you can lean on artificial intelligence in almost every phase: researching the topic, writing and reviewing the script, adding a voice, generating images and editing. What you cannot delegate are the decisions: what to say, which facts are true, which voice represents your channel and whether the result deserves to be published. The method that works is not a button that “makes the video”, but a chain of phases in which each one is reviewed before moving on to the next.

What AI can do and what remains yours

AI is fast at producing drafts and variations: lists of ideas, outlines, first versions of a script, synthetic voice-overs or illustrations for a scene. It is unreliable when it comes to knowing whether what it says is true, understanding your audience or deciding what makes your channel different. Dividing the work well avoids most problems:

  • It can help you with: ideas from a topic, the research guide, the outline and draft of the script, the list of claims that need checking, the synthetic voice, the images, the subtitles and the title and description suggestions.
  • It remains yours: the channel's editorial line, choosing which idea deserves a video, checking every fact against a source, approving the script, reviewing the edit, deciding whether the content looks real and must be disclosed, and answering for what you publish.

A practical rule: let the AI propose and let a person approve at the points where a mistake is costly, which are the script and the final edit. Redoing a scene costs little; publishing a false fact costs credibility.

The complete workflow, step by step

  1. Define the channel before the first video. Topic, audience, tone, visual style and what the channel will never say. In film and television that document is called a bible; there is a guide in how to write a YouTube channel bible. Without it, every video made with AI comes out in a different voice.
  2. Choose the idea with a reason why. Ask the AI for variations on your topics, but keep the ones you can justify: what question the video answers, why now and how it differs from what already exists. More in ideas for a YouTube channel.
  3. Research and write a brief. One page with the goal of the video, who it is for, the promise of the title and the sources you will use. The AI can prepare the list of questions; the answers come from sources you have read yourself.
  4. Write the script and check every fact. Use the AI for the outline and the draft, and then pull out the list of verifiable claims: dates, figures, names and causes. Each one needs its source or is cut from the script. We explain it in how to write a script for YouTube.
  5. Divide the script into scenes. For each scene, the text that is narrated, how long it lasts, what is seen and how it moves. If a scene does not work, it is redone on its own without touching the rest.
  6. Add the voice. A synthetic voice or your own, recorded scene by scene. The criteria for choosing are in AI voice-over or your own voice.
  7. Create or gather the visual assets. Generated images, photos and clips of your own or from licensed libraries. Note where each asset comes from and under what licence you use it: if anyone asks, you will have the answer.
  8. Edit, review and approve. First a preview to spot odd pacing, images that do not fit or mispronunciations; then the final master.
  9. Prepare the publishing package. Title, description, thumbnails, subtitles and chapters. Go over the details with the checklist for publishing a video on YouTube.
  10. Upload, disclose what applies and measure. When uploading in YouTube Studio you decide whether the content must be marked as AI-generated or altered and, from then on, you compare how it performs against the rest of your videos.

How much each phase costs depends on the tools and on how many times you redo a scene; we break it down in the cost of producing a video with AI.

What YouTube says about AI-made content

Two policies directly affect a channel that produces with AI. We summarise them from YouTube's official help pages:

  • Disclosure. YouTube asks creators to tell the audience when they use AI to significantly alter or generate photorealistic content. By contrast, you do not need to disclose it when the AI has only helped with production, for example to create or improve outlines, scripts, thumbnails, titles or infographics. The detail is in when to flag altered or synthetic content.
  • Monetisation. Its monetisation policies require content to be original and authentic, and among the examples that cannot be monetised they cite AI-generated content built on generic or low-originality templates that gives the impression of having been mass-produced. We cover it in can you monetise a channel made with AI?

The practical consequence is the same in both cases: AI can speed up the work, but the video has to carry your judgement, your sources and your way of telling a story.

Typical mistakes when producing with AI

  • Publishing the first draft. The first script a model produces tends to be correct and flat. Rewrite it with your tone, your examples and your opinion.
  • Accepting a figure because a model said it. An AI model can generate results that look plausible and are incorrect, and even links to web pages that have never existed. If you cannot find the fact in a reliable source, it does not go in the script.
  • Making every video with the same template. Repeating the structure is not a problem in itself: YouTube acknowledges that many channels follow a similar pattern, but asks that the essence of each video be different, and it describes content as generic or repetitive when it appears to be made from a template or may feel repetitive after watching several videos from the same channel in a row.
  • Using images without knowing where they come from. A stock photo used without a licence or an asset taken from another channel can end in a claim.
  • Regenerating the whole video because of one faulty scene. Working scene by scene saves time and money: you change what fails and keep what was already approved.
  • Expecting results from the tool. No tool guarantees views or income. What you do control is the quality of each video and consistency in publishing.

How the Estudio de Canales organises it

The Estudio de Canales is a product of AVANZAIA TECH SL for producing YouTube videos with AI. It follows this same workflow and leaves the decision points in a person's hands:

  • The channel bible gathers identity, topics, editorial and visual style, and channel rules, with their versions.
  • The ideas, generated with AI or your own, carry their reason why in text. Sources are added by a person: if the model returns links, they are discarded.
  • When verifying the script, the AI only extracts the verifiable claims, and they become verified when a person adds a source to them. The program does not let you assemble a video whose script has not been approved.
  • The storyboard divides the approved script into scenes word for word, and each scene is redone separately.
  • The voice can be an AI one, choosing between several models and narrators, or your own: you upload the recording or record it in the browser with a teleprompter.
  • AI-generated images, or your own assets, have their licence and source noted.
  • The preview and the master are assembled in the cloud, and both need your approval.
  • The package includes the video, three thumbnails, subtitles, title, description and chapters (if they meet YouTube's rules), with the synthetic content disclosure ticked when it includes AI-made assets.

What it does not do counts too. It does not publish to your channel on its own: you download the package, upload it yourself in YouTube Studio and paste the link to follow its results. It does not create avatars or clone other people's voices. And it does not generate AI video clips: it works best with narrated videos with images. YouTube is a trademark of Google LLC, and this studio is not sponsored or endorsed by YouTube.

Frequently asked questions

Can you make an entire YouTube video with AI?

You can lean on AI for almost every phase: script, voice, images and editing. Even so, a person should check the facts and approve the script and the final result, because a model can give results that look plausible and are incorrect.

Do I have to disclose it on YouTube if I use AI for the script?

No, if the AI only helped you create or improve the outline or the script: YouTube treats that as production assistance. You do have to disclose when the content looks real and has been generated or altered with AI.

Which part of the process should not be delegated to AI?

Checking the facts and approving the script and the edit. Those are the points where a mistake reaches the viewer and affects the channel's credibility.

Does the Estudio de Canales publish the videos on my channel?

No. The studio prepares the complete package and you upload it in YouTube Studio. Then you paste the video's link and the studio tracks its results.
